Luisa Naughton

The Crested Butte Clay Studio was founded by Luisa Naughton. She has been making functional pottery in her home studio in Crested Butte since 2003 and is excited to offer clay studio space to our community. She has seen a growing interest in the ceramic arts in Crested Butte and hope to help clay artists continue on their path in ceramics as well as introduce this art form to other community members.

Kristen Gruenberger

Through playful approach and exploration, Kristin’s whimsical ceramic work ignites the imagination and draws the viewer into a storybook and down the rabbit hole. Each piece creates an experience, introducing a sense of play as it is both utilized and visually enjoyed. Ceramic form and surface are explored using various altering, texturing, incising and glazing techniques. Each piece begins as a basic wheel thrown form of function, then becoming an object of curiosity that evokes a sense of childlike wonderment.

Kristin graduated with a BFA in Ceramics form Metropolitan State University of Denver in 2011. She works as a fulltime ceramic artist in Gunnison, CO and teaches workshops and classes at the Gunnison Art Center, Art Students League of Denver and the Crested Butte Clay Studio.

“Connecting with community through creativity and clay is one of the greatest rewards as an artist. I am excited to be part of the CB Clay Studio and working with you!”
